Meet Girl Scouts Founder Juliette Gordon Low!
Libba Beaucham portrays “Daisy” from the year 1920 with a fun and engaging living history program that teaches Girl Scouts about the history of Girl Scouts, Juliette Gordon Low’s life, and the amazing contributions and successes of Girl Scouts since it began in 1912.
Libba has performed for thousands of students and Girl Scouts in-person and virtually. Her deep knowledge of Juliette Gordon Low’s life and the Girl Scouts is shared through living history as she portrays “Daisy” from the year 1920. Questions are answered in-character with stories from her extensive research. Libba has over 10 years of living history interpretation experience having worked at the Northeast Georgia History Center at Brenau University and the National Civil War Naval Museum. She has a background in theatre performance, improvisation, history education, and music which she brings to each unique performance.

This program will be highly interactive with opportunities for Girl Scouts to join Juliette on stage to take part in traditional Girl Scout skills and activities like marching, Morse code, semaphore flag signals, traditional Girl Scout games, songs, and more!
Girl Scouts in uniform and their families are offered free admission to this program and General Public tickets are $10. Admission is first-come-first-serve at the door for this limited-seating event. Doors open at 1:30 PM.

Juliette will lead the audience in a traditional Girl Scout song and share Girl Scout traditions during the program.
Celebrate Juliette Low's birthday
Juliette will mention her birthday being Founder’s Day and invite the audience to sing “Happy Founder’s Day” to the tune of the Happy Birthday song.
Share sisterhood
Juliette will ask the audience what they love about their fellow Girl Scouts.
Leave a place better than you found it
At the end of the program, Juliette will ask that the audience tidy up and look at the space to make sure they leave it better than they found it.

Make friendly introductions
Juliette will share how sociable she was as a child and into her adulthood and share a few stories. She will invite the audience to introduce themselves to each other cordially and politely.

Juliette will share stories of how she cared for her friends. She will invite the audience to share stories of how they have helped a friend, too.
Share favorite activities
Juliette will share her favorite activities in Girl Scouts and ask the audience to share their favorites, too.
Learn how to disagree
Juliette will discuss the controversy Girl Scouts faced when the organization changed the name from “Girl Guides” to “Girl Scouts" and how she approached disagreement with kindness and inviting those who disagreed to participate in Scouting activities themselves.
Practice friendship!
Juliette will share how important her lifelong friendships have been and ask the audience why they think it is important to be a friend to everyone.

Girl Scout Troop Program - $200 (90 Minutes with Activities)
Performances that are for a Girl Scout Troop plus family/chaperones. Girl Scout Troops may coordinate with other Troops to participate in the same performance program.
Performances are modified for age/grade level, but all activities are the same.

General Audience Program - $400 (60 Minutes + 15 Minute Q&A)
Performances held in larger capacity spaces for a general audience that are open to both Girl Scouts and the general public. Volunteers from the audience will participate in games. Includes an in-character Q&A up to 15 minutes. Optional photos with Juliette Low are available at the end of the performance.
